Roman Ondak (born 1966) is an artist who often moves the barriers defining the conventional gallery space by dragging in a piece of everyday life's reality.
One example is Ondak’s project Teaching To Walk, firstly performed in 2002. In this performance, a present mother teaching her son to walk is becoming an artistic piece herself. Time when children learn their first steps is a very important moment in their lives.
This performance can be contextualized on many different levels, one of which is to bring life into the artistic space, in its fundamental and pure spirit.
• If you are interested in creating a piece with Roman Ondak, you have a son about 1 year old (currently starting with his first steps) and you want to attend the gallery at the fixed time, do not hesitate to ask for more information at email@example.com or call +420 778 724 588 and book a free date.
• This performance has been successfully presented in some of world galleries such as MACBA / the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona or Fondazione Nicola Trussardi in Milan.
• Performance will take place at the exhibition “Medium Figure” in Colloredo-Mansfeld Palace during 14 July – 8 October 2017 and will be held every day except for Mondays between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm.
